The Last Apple (a.k.a. Hungry)

Heather Swain’s ‘Hungry’ to be Developed to Film

Variety: Ineffable Pictures is developing young-adult novel Hungry as a movie, tapping writer Derek Simon to adapt Heather Swain’s dystopian story. Ineffable’s Raphael Kryszek and Jesse Israel will produce with Lane Shefter Bishop of Vast Entertainment, who brought the project to the company. Hungry, set for publication by Holts Children/MacMillan/Feiwell & Friends, takes place in a future in which there is no longer any food and the population is fed via nutrient patches manufactured by a ruling corporation. The story follows a teen girl as she suddenly starts feeling hunger pains.
